The Art of Procrastination

Well I shouldn't say that because I have done a lot of studying...although doesn't feel like much considering the time. I also got a later start than expected...you know the all important Starbucks run this morning, then I remembered I had to buy a new "exam approved" calculator, then taking the dog for a "walk" (her walks are down the street til she does her business, then back...lazy Willow!).
Before I left this morning I finally made some of the highly hyped "pumpkin pie oatmeal", that I see all over blogland! I wasn't really craving oatmeal this morning, but it was such a chilly morning that I really wanted something that would warm me up from the inside...therefore, oatmeal it was! I didn't have any bananas, so it was time to try the pumpkin.

My oats this morning consisted of:

1/2 cup oats
3/4 cup skim milk
salt
vanilla
1/4 cup pumpkin
cinnamon
nutmeg
a little ground cloves
a spoonful of pumpkin butter
drizzle of maple syrup
crushed graham cracker
spoon with a little AB

I'd say this was pretty good, but not as great at hoped...wasn't sweet enough or pumpkin pie enough for me I guess...I feel like I added a lot of spices but maybe more? Or just something else. Hmmm. Again, though, I love my classic steel cut best. This was VERY filling though, I couldn't even finish it!!

I didn't get hungry again til almost 3! My mom was cute and left me $20 to get some food while studying, so finally I decided to order from my FAV Greek place... The Aegean. I've been eating at this place for as long as I can remember...and get this...when I was younger (must of been elementary age) I used to ask for my salads with.....NO FETA!!! What was I thinking?!?!? It's amazing when I think of all the foods I never wanted to try when I was little, that I now LOVE!

I ordered their Greek Salad with grilled chicken, and Navy bean soup...

Oh and lets not forget all the bread and pitas they give you....mmmm yummy soft pita bread.I portioned out some salad (its huge), and ate about half the soup as well...I was Full!
Although not full enough to forget about the Halloween candy that mom already bought...

This is my "work area" today... SO.MANY.BOOKS. This exam is open book and you need so many references!! I'm going to bring a rolling suitcase for my books the day of (and this is pretty common)...because it took me 4 trips to the car today :(

I really wanted to get in some sort of run/walk today but we'll see...

Back to work!

Sorry about the pumpkin oats - may I humbly suggest my version of pumpkin oats??:

Pumpkin-Banana-Hazelnut Butter Oatmeal (made using 1/2 cup of oats, a little more than 1/2 cup water, 1 large banana, 1/2 cup of pumpkin, and 2 tablespoons of hazelnut-butter).

    Best of luck studying!!

  4. there are so many foods that i used to hate when i was a kid that i am obsessed with now. a few include: tomatoes, PEANUT BUTTER, most cheese, dark chocolate, and oatmeal. I am SO glad that my tastes have changed because these things are all pretty much staples in my life now!

    good luck with the studying!

  8. Your babe is a cutie. I felt the same way when I tried the pumpkin oats. I think I needed more spice too. The pumpkin butter addition looks great, though!

I love Greek salad and feta. Hope studying goes well. It was always the hardest for me on a fall weekend because I love that weather so much, just wanted to be outside. :)
