First things first...I did a 5K this morning!!! Yes it was on the treadmill and I walked the first 5 minutes to warm up...but this was the FIRST TIME EVER I HAVE RUN THAT MUCH!! Very exciting for me. The past few weeks running has felt a little easier so I went for it. I also found a little function on the treadmill where the screen shows a 5K path (its windy and through the "mountains" on the screen haha), but to be able to see the little dot moving as I go was such a motivator. I could see how close I was to being done so I didn't want to stop! So my first ever 5K time was 32:49 (that includes my 5min walk in the beginning at something around 3.4mph) so its hard to judge my actual running pace...but I don't care I was just excited to do it! Plus now that I have a time I can work to beat it!
I have to thank all you running bloggers out there, it'd DEFINITELY been my motivation...Thank you!!
Back to eats:
Breakfast yesterday was what I will call Trail Mix oats!1/3 cup oats, 1/3 cup skim milk, 1/3 cup water
salt and vanilla
1/2 banana
Added:
1 tsp pumpkin butter
random trail mix items - soy nuts, peanuts, dried apricot, dried date, raisins, dried cranberries, dried cherries, choc. chips, PB chips
Spoon of White Choc. PB!
YUMMMM!!!
This kept me full all morning, no need for my mid morning snack even!
No lunch pics...ate with co-workers and the fiance came over to my office for lunch too (he works 1 mile away)
Last night was the first night of my dance rep show! It was fun, I love performing! Even though I'm there all night for a 4 minute piece, it's still worth it :)
I packed a half of a PB and J for a snack while at the theater.
I also ate an apple, and some snack mix.
My mom came to the show and afterwards we went to Eastern Standard Kitchen in Kenmore Square (right near Fenway). Neither of us were very hungry but we wanted to hang out for a little bit.
I ordered a salad, she ordered a dessert and we shared...I was shocked how busy the place was still at 10pm!! I never would normally eat dinner that late!
My salad was a delicious Chicken Confit Salad with apple, mustard greens, and red wine vinaigrette!
SO good! The chicken was so tender and flavorful (obviously since "confit" means it was once coated in fat then cooked til crisp)...but man, SO good! I love when meat is pulled apart like that, not just cut up.
For our dessert we split the Beignet's with Bourbon CaramelThey were like little clouds of fried dough with a decadent caramel sauce...mmmm heaven.
Maybe it was this late night food that prompted my run this morning hehe.
After my 5k I came home to make a traditional breakfast sandwich...I've been craving one lately. Mine consisted of 1 egg, 1 slice of American cheese, 1 slice of Canadian bacon on a whole wheat TJ's "British" muffin.Served with 1/2 banana, sliced, and coffee with milk and Nog!Now its time for errands and such before heading to the Theater tonight! Roomie and Fiance are coming tonight, and right after I am done we are heading to a cocktail party with all our friends at a bar in downtown Boston. Can't wait to dance the night away with my friends later!!
Random quick review... Z-bar Chocolate Brownie flavor. I've seen a lot of Z-Bars on blogs lately but don't think I've seen this flavor! It's AWESOME! It's so chocolaty, and tastes like a chewy Dark chocolate, slightly sweet brownie...yum!I think it would even be amazing heated up in the microwave a few seconds and served with ice cream :)
Have a great Saturday!!
