Outdoors and New Things

I spent a lot of time outside this weekend and the weather was gorgeous!  It was in the mid 70’s and sunny…perfect.

Saturday started with a Bootcamp Blast.  My pre-workout breakfast:

A cup of homemade iced coffee, black, and 1 slice of my homemade banana bread with a little raw almond butter.  Delicious.

Did I mention I got an iphone??!  YES!  So pumped about it!

(crap, the recipe for the banana bread is on my work computer…I swear it’s coming!)

The workout kicked my butt and the trainer was awesome.  At one point during some drills we did squat thrusts (I believe also known as burpies) and when we jumped up we had to yell “I’m a Star!”.  Hahah I felt silly first but it kept my mind off how I just wanted to lie down on the ground and rest at that moment :)

I did bootcamp with my BFF and we walked around the city for a bit after.

When I got home I was craving a smoothie:

  • skim milk
  • kale
  • 1 chunk of frozen banana (about 1/4 of a banana)
  • 5-6 frozen strawberries
  • 1/2 scoop Amazing Meal
  • 3/4 scoop vanilla protein powder

Not exactly a green smoothie but I got my serving of veggies :)

Sunday morning was a bit of a re-peat.  But this time with an iced latte :)

Then it was off to pick up some new stuff for the yard!  We have a garden in the works, but today was all about our new patio furniture set!!!

My breakfast wasn't really enough to get my through our morning errands and I came home staaaaarving!

This was delicious and fast: Breakfast Sandwich with

  • 1 mini whole wheat bagel
  • 1 egg cooked on the stove with canola oil spray
  • whipped chive cream cheese
  • sliced fresh tomato

On the side I had this creamy treat

Love these.

IMG_9298Another new item that arrived recently was my new food processor!

Ruelala had a deal on Cuisinart products the other day and I just couldn’t pass this one up!  I’ve had an old hand me down for a few years and I’m not gonna lie the thing has started smoking on my before when it gets a good workout haha.

New one!

Side by side, the new one dwarfs the old one!!

I heart new kitchen things :)

Ok back to work.

This patio set came in a huge box, which I had some fun with.

But then it was down to business.

Not without a little wine to get us through the afternoon.  My friend and I sipped wine and put this beast together while Brian did yard work.

Finally it was ready!!!

Hello outdoor sectional!!  And it can be arranged in like 8 different ways!!

Of course we set up the umbrella (remember I got it for Christmas!), and lounged in the shade.  It was heavenly.

I can’t wait to spend some QT out here.

Hope you other Bostonians got to enjoy the awesome weather this weekend!!

G’nite!

  3. Nice patio set, and what a gorgeous weekend to enjoy lounging on it :)

I have become extremely reliant on my food processor - not sure what I'd do without it. I'm looking forward to reading what you make with your new one!

  5. Love the patio set and that you played in the box. Wasn't that the best part of being a kid? I loved the big boxes!
