I worked my two days this week and tomorrow morning I’m off bright and early to catch a ferry over to Martha’s Vineyard!! My roommate's parent’s rent a house for a week every summer and the past few summer's I have been lucky enough to come down for a few days. This year and last I have gone from Wed-Sat, which is a perfect amount of time.
I plan to get a little beach time in (weather permitting), shop around Edgartown, Vineyard Haven, and Oak Bluffs, and eat some AMAZING food. My all time FAVORITE restaurant that I can’t wait to go to is The Mediterranean. It’s insanely good. There will for certain be a post about it!
But until then, I’ll do a mini recap of some delicious COLORFUL eats!
Fresh Summer Fruit: Raspberries, Strawberries, Cherries, and Green Grapes!
Delicious fruit = fruity oats!
This wonderful mix consisted of:
- 1/3 c. oats
- 1/3 c. skim milk
- 1/6 c. water
- 1/2 banana
- 1 tsp Apricot preserves cooked in
- about 3-4 strawberries (some added halfway through cooking, the rest cut fresh on top at the end)
- raspberries added to the top
- Kashi U sprinkled on top
- approx 1 tsp PB
- approx 2 tsp raw almond butter
Speaking of Almond Butter, I had to replenish my stock yesterday at TJ’s and I just couldn’t decide…so I got both!
Raw Crunchy and Creamy roasted
I also grabbed that amazing looking fruit spread
Some other loot consisted of:
These were with the other dried fruit! TJ’s makes their own fruit leather, and I guess this bag is full of the odd end pieces that come when they cut it up into strips. It’s all different flavors too!
Those granola bars are SO good. I treat them more like a dessert/treat…and they taste like one too! Chewy goodness.
And what trip would be complete without a new cereal to try:
This reminds me of Honey Bunches of Oats in consistency and appearance, but MUCH less sweet…perfect sweetness for me. Crunchy, light, and a little sweet.
Tonight I finally made a batch of the infamous Super Charge Me Cookies that are so popular in Blog World!
Thankfully the recipe is now online so I whipped up a quick batch to take to the Vineyard!
Now I see what all the fuss is about…these are AWESOME!!!
And I leave you with some leftover wedding flowers :)
I’m all packed (over-packed) up and ready to head to sea tomorrow :)
Enjoy your trip, I look forward to hearing all about it
