Another Blur of a Weekend

This is honestly the first time I've sat at a computer since work on Friday!! Go-Go-Go

Quick Recap:
  • Friday after work, I went to the Mall with roomie
  • Bought new 600 Thread Count sheets for the new bed
  • Dinner at Cheesecake Factory
  • So.Much.Cleaning of my bedroom before the new mattress is delivered
Saturday:
  • After getting to bed late, I had to wake up early on Saturday before my cousin picked up my old bed
  • New bed delivered
  • Got ready for the day
  • Manicures with mom and roomie
  • Lunch
  • HOME INSPECTION - wow these are long...over 3 hours! Most of what we learned we already knew, there were some other new things but nothing that surprising. Since we live in a state with one of the HIGHEST real estate prices, its a lot harder to find a great house at a "first time buyer" price haha. Sometimes when I look at what we could buy with this money in like North Carolina its INSANE! Alas my family and life will always be in Massachusetts, I just can't imagine living elsewhere :)
  • Came home, ate, changed and headed to...
  • The Ballet! Roomie and I saw Boston Ballet's Sleeping Beauty! Such a beautiful ballet!!!! Although there were times I wanted to sleep just like "beauty"...I was TIIIIRED!
Today:

After a wonderful sleep in the new bed!!! It was time for Brunch for my grandfather's Birthday!

Highlights (aside from sticky buns!!!)

My mom made this lovely Frittata! It had herbs, Zucchini, Summer Squash and goat cheese I believe...Yay mom! Delish!

My aunt made these... On the right are (slightly over browned) homemade popovers....SO GOOD. On the left, the cookie-looking things are actually little swirl pats of homemade blood orange butter for the popovers...amazing
Another amazing dish today was this Seafood Newburg-type pan of delicious Shrimp and Halibut in an incredibly flavorful seafood/sherry/creamy sauce with julienned carrots and topped with panko crumbs. Tasted light and rich at the same time...I need this recipe.
Mixed greens with a citrusy vinaigrette
Asparagus with Parmesan

There was a creamy cheesecake that went unphotorgaphed, but I didn't miss Birthday CakeSimple yet so delicious Chocolate Cake with Chocolate butter cream....mmmmmmmmm!!!!!

Another delicious Family gathering and I must say I was much more controlled today...I didn't get to that uncomfortably full stage, yay!

Well once again I'm exhausted, and just really do NOT want to go to work tomorrow :(

Oh well...at least I snagged a sticky bun to go ;)

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
